Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene while maintaining dignity and respect.
Mobility Support: Help with transfers, ambulation, range-of-motion exercises, and safe use of mobility aids.
Medication Reminders: Prompt clients to take medications as directed and note adherence.
Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
Companionship: Provide social interaction, conversation, and engagement in meaningful activities.
Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe, tidy environment including laundry, dishes, and general room upkeep.
Monitoring & Reporting: Observe and document changes in client condition and communicate with supervisors/families.
Appointments & Errands: Accompany clients to appointments and help with shopping and essential errands when required.
Safety & Infection Control: Follow agency protocols, PPE use, and best practices for client and caregiver safety.
Team Communication: Coordinate with care coordinators, nurses, and family members to support the care plan.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a caregiver, home support worker, or similar role preferred.
Strong communication skills in English; additional languages an asset.
Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a client-focused mindset.
Ability to perform the physical aspects of caregiving, including assisting with transfers.
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred (role may involve travel between clients).
