Job Summary:
As a Portal Official Veterinarian, you will be a key player in upholding regulatory standards for the import of animal-origin products. Your responsibilities include inspecting, certifying, and advising on international trade, contributing to our mission of ensuring compliance and safeguarding the health and safety of animal-origin imports.
Duties:
- Thoroughly inspect and sign off on animal-origin products from non-European countries, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide valuable advice to food business operators regarding international trade of products of animal origin (POAO) subject to restrictions.
- Carry out necessary administrative tasks, including preparing protocols, training documents, and other requested documents.
- Offer import certification for products of animal origin (POAOs), contributing to the facilitation of international trade.
- Conduct thorough inspections of animal-origin products from non-European countries.
- Provide valuable advice and guidance to food business operators involved in the international trade of products of animal origin (POAO) subject to restrictions.
- Execute various administrative tasks essential to the smooth operation of the certification process. Prepare protocols, training documents, and other requested documents efficiently and accurately.
- Facilitate the import process by providing accurate and timely certification for products of animal origin (POAOs).
- Stay informed about evolving regulations and standards in the field of animal product importation.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners to maintain a seamless certification process.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality assurance in the certification process.
- Â Be prepared to respond to any emergencies or unforeseen circumstances related to product inspection and certification.
Requirements:
- MRCVS qualification.
- Based in Kent or willing to relocate.
- Experience is desirable, but comprehensive training will be provided.
- Possess strong analytical skills to evaluate products thoroughly, identify potential risks, and make informed certification decisions.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the inspection and certification process to maintain the highest level of accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, translating complex regulatory information into clear and actionable guidance for food business operators.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, especially in navigating challenges related to international trade regulations and certification procedures.
