Job Summary

As a Teaching and Learning Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the MSc programs in Financial Mathematics and Mathematical Modelling. This role also involves engagement monitoring for postgraduate students and collaborating with academic staff to ensure effective program administration.

Duties: 

  • Provide comprehensive support for MSc programs, ensuring effective administration procedures.
  • Engage in monitoring postgraduate student progress.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and Admissions Tutors.
  • Contribute to achieving high-quality service delivery for students and staff.
  • Support teaching and learning activities from inquiry to completion.
  • Maintain accurate student and course records.
  • Collaborate with academic staff to enhance the student experience and ensure program effectiveness.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative teaching and learning practices.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating events related to teaching and learning.
  • Act as a point of contact for students, addressing inquiries and providing guidance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes.

About the Department:

The Department of Mathematics boasts internationally recognized research groups, contributing to pure and applied analysis, fluid mechanics, mathematical physics, geometry and topology, algebra, number theory, combinatorics, and mathematical modeling in various fields.

About You:

  • Experience in administration within higher education or a teaching and learning environment.
  • Familiarity with online learning environments.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, shared online documents, video conferencing systems, and email.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with staff and students.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.

Salary: 

  • £40,000.00 yearly

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 O.S.S.D. or equivalent.
  • Relevant post-secondary education in administration, higher education, or a related field is an asset.

  • Experience using web publishing software for document production.
