Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB), one of Saskatchewan’s largest First Nations communities, is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides to provide in-home support to clients in Hall Lake. In this community-based role, you’ll help elders and individuals with care needs live safely and independently with dignity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personal care: Support bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene with respect and privacy.
  • Mobility assistance: Assist with safe transfers, walking support, and use of mobility aids.
  • Meal support: Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when required.
  • Household tasks: Perform light housekeeping related to client care (laundry, tidying, sanitizing care areas).
  • Companionship: Provide social interaction, conversation, and emotional support.
  • Observation: Monitor and document changes in health, mood, or behavior, and report concerns promptly.
  • Care records: Maintain accurate, confidential notes and follow care plans.
  • Team collaboration: Coordinate with families and health professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • Previous caregiving, home care, or support worker experience is an asset.
  • Certification as a Home Health Aide/Personal Support Worker (or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory with relevant experience.
  • Current First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain).
  • Clear criminal record/vulnerable sector check prior to employment.
  • Strong communication, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to client transfers and mobility support.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
