Visa Sponsorship & Immigration Information:

M&J McElhone Farming Inc. may consider visa sponsorship via an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) for strong candidates under Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends on business needs, candidate qualifications, and approval by Canadian authorities.

Agricultural roles typically fall under the TFWP Agricultural Stream. Some seasonal positions may also be eligible under the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) for citizens of participating countries. If selected, the employer would apply for an LMIA; with a positive LMIA, the worker can then apply for a Canadian work permit through IRCC.

Foreign applicants should prepare: a valid passport, updated resume/CV, references, any farm-related experience or certificates, educational credentials (if applicable), and language test results if required by the program. Police clearance and a medical exam may be requested during processing. Clearly state your current work authorization status and whether LMIA/work-permit support is needed.

How to Apply:

  • Prepare an updated resume/CV in English tailored to farm work.
  • Highlight relevant skills such as planting, harvesting, machinery use, and safety awareness.
  • State your current work authorization status in Canada (if any).
  • Include professional references where available.
